Rotating Neurotology Fellows - Goals and Expectations

  1. Gain familiarity with normal appearance of brain, tumor and neural structures submitted to pathology.
  2. Learn to evaluate and document common histopathologic disorders of the skull base.
  3. Learn importance of clinician-pathologist communication including achieving proper orientation surgical specimens, and submission of pathology.
  4. Appreciate the gross and histologic appearance of common and unusual intracranial, temporal bone and skull base tumors and disease processes.
  5. Know the indications and recognize staining characteristics of benign and malignant tumors of the skull base.
