When only slides are received:
- After accessioning preview the slides and make sure they correspond to the paper work provided by the outside Institution.
- Try to gather recent clinical information including radiology data from referring doctor, MARS, Stentor and Copath.
- If you need to request blocks/unstained slides on the case, specify from which block and let Christina Romanello know. She will make the request.
When slides and blocks are received:
- Preview the slides and send block to Histology.
- Order appropriate stains and/or blanks and remember to order an additional H&E for our records.
When wet tissue is received:
- Take to Gross Room
- Refer to the gross manual
