Managing patients with neurological disease frequently requires a cross disciplinary team of clinicians with a broad range of expertise (e.g. Neurologists, Neurosurgeons, Oncologists and Pathologists). In cases where intraoperative tissue biopsy analysis is required, it is critical that the involved pathologist have expertise in neurological disorders. For over a decade the Division of Neuropathology at UPMC has been actively engaged in Telepathology (1) . Developed to distribute our Neuropathology Center of Excellence throughout the UPMC system, we have expanded our services to be able to include institutions throughout the United States (2). Physicians and institutions in need of intraoperative consultation in Neuropathology cases are encouraged to contact the Division Director (Dr. Julia Kofler; koflerjk@upmc.edu; 412-624-9415) to discuss potential collaborations.
